Curious Creatures: Working With Tools by Zoe Armstrong & Anja Sušanj

Curious Creatures: Working With Tools by Zoe Armstrong & Anja Sušanj

Curious Creatures: Working With Tools by Zoe Armstrong & Anja Sušanj. In Earth’s jungles and deserts and deep beneath the sea curious creatures are hard at work. Some resourceful animals use tools to get the job done, just like you do. There are bottlenose dolphins holding sponges to protect their snouts, chimps wielding rocky hammers and tailorbirds stitching leaves with spider silk. Learn how and why these animals toil with tools, and discover that you have more in common with them than you ever imagined…

Zoë Armstrong writes picture books and illustrated non-fiction for children. Growing up in Oxford and Paris, Zoë pored over the books of Arnold Lobel, Maurice Sendak and Judith Kerr – books that told stories with pictures as well as words. The rhythms of their writing have stayed with her ever since.

Anja Sušanj is a slavic illustrator that mostly works in children’s publishing and editorial. She graduated from the University of the Arts London and is now based in coastal Croatia. Overall, her workflow tends to be quite conceptual, as she puts a lot of research into every project she tackles. Whimsical and peculiar stories and characters are a great source of inspiration to her, especially those from Slavic lore, local folklore, and nature and its many storytelling qualities. When Anja is not drawing, she likes to get lost in the woods, or pick up a kettlebell or two.
